How to Style Dark Florals in the Spring

Happy, happy spring!
We have officially made it to spring which means one of my favorite patterns has finally come back in full bloom and have taken over everywhere: floral prints.
Spring is just such a calming and welcoming season to express yourself through fashion like you never have before, and I really love that. You're not subjected solely to your (now) old winter wardrobe — chunky knit sweaters, coats, boots and more — and can experiment with pieces from your new spring wardrobe with those winter pieces that you believe remain a versatile item in your closet and can be styled in spring-y ways.
Floral prints, undoubtedly, are in stores during every season, but we most prominently see them in spring. I usually wear them most in the summer because a lot of my comfiest knit shorts that follow me year after year are plastered with floral prints. Every once in a while, though, I'll spot a really nice floral print shirt or dress that I just have to have and so as you can guess, here we are today...discussing floral prints.
Dark florals, if any, are usually my go-to floral print. They resonates with a huge chunk of the color palette in my closet and personally, I think they look more chic and polished. Styling dark florals when spring screams pastels and pretty pinks can sometimes be a little difficult so below I've showed you how to I chose to style a dark floral print shirt with jeans for this spring season!

Floral Print Blouse with Flounce Hem Sleeves: H&M (black patterned)
Straight Fit Embroidered Jeans: H&M (light denim)
Pearl Drop Earrings: Francesca's (no longer available, similar here)
Lace-Up Sandals: Forever 21 (no longer available, similar here)
Purse: Forever 21 (white)

I opted for a lighter color denim with this top because the shirt itself holds enough deep and rich colors. But now I'm thinking this light-weight flounce sleeved blouse could also star in a femme fatale all black ensemble as an alternative...I'll get back to you on that later.
One of my favorite things about this blouse are the sleeves. As I've already said, they're flounce hem but also have ruffled, asymmetrical cuffs. It adds an extra element of fun to the look that ties into the spunk that the cut and embroidery of the jeans hold.
The jeans are a high-waist fit so I tucked the blouse in, allowing for them to slightly elongate my legs (because us short girls need all the help we can get), and because I didn't want to go completely covered, I went with embroidered lace-up sandals with a small heel.
To accessorize, I paired a white faux-leather purse with the blouse and jeans to match the white flowers that cover the shirt. I'm not much of a jewelry fan (if you haven't been able to tell), so I chose, on a very rare occasion, heart-studded pearl drop earrings to finish off the look.

Though I wore this out for dinner with a friend, this outfit gave off some serious brunch-style vibes as well, which floral print is perfect for. And though I'm no expert on floral prints or have in no way perfected the look, I wanted to share with you all how I chose to style my dark floral prints this season.
