A Two-Piece Set Perfect for Hot Summer Days

Happy July!

Two-Piece Floral Set from Forever 21

I can't believe the year is already half way over! Time has been flying by, but I've been enjoying every minute of it. Yesterday was full of bliss. After getting mani/pedi's in the morning with my sister, then heading to Guy Fieri's Smokehouse (so so good!) for my birthday lunch, we headed to my fourth stop on the Reputation Stadium Tour at the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, KY. The weather in the South is seriously no joke so styling for this outdoor concert wasn't too difficult because less really was the best way to go for the 100 degree weather that stilled all throughout the night.

For this show, I opted for a two-piece set from Forever 21. I've always been really into two-piece sets, but whenever I wanted to buy one it either never looked right on me or I just wasn't feeling it. This set, however, was perfect for last night because it was comfortable to move around in, it was light, and the print was chic and fun.

My favorite thing about this look was definitely the allover floral print and color. The rich red hue was the perfect summer tone and also ties into one of my favorite holiday's that is just around the corner. Along with the print and color, I also really loved the square neckline of the crop top. I don't usually migrate towards tops with this cut, but it paired so well with the fitted skirt. The shoulder straps were adjustable, it has a back zip closure and it also fits TTS (wearing a S).

Another thing I like about this crop top is that it has a longer cut than most. This way, I can still get use out of it in different seasons such as the spring or fall by pairing it with high-waist jeans or trousers and a cardigan or jacket. Much of my summer wardrobe consists of solely summer-only clothes, but I've been trying to purchase more versatile items lately in case some of the styles don't make it into next summers season.

The matching skirt from Forever 21 also has a zip back closure and pockets (!!!). It’s always a bonus when skirts or dresses come with pockets because whenever I'm wearing one that doesn't have any, I always find myself searching for them. One issue I find myself running into from time to time with high-waist skirts is having them fit everywhere and then the waist is too big. This causes the skirts to slide down (or ride up) and hit the most awkward curves on my figure rather than fitting to my waist as they’re meant for. This time I thankfully didn't run into that issue, and the skirt didn't ride up nor slide down too low. It fits TTS (wearing a S) and was so comfy to dance and jump around in at the concert!

For shoes I went with taupe strappy heels from Forever 21. I purchased them over two years ago so they're sadly no longer in stock, but you can find a similar pair here. These are one of my favorite pairs of heels because they have lasted me so long and are still in great condition. I wanted a neutral color shoe to pair with this outfit to keep the attention at the two-piece set and this pair did just that.

To accessorize, I wore a gold vertical pendant necklace that has "Fearless" engraved on it. It was just something simple that I wear almost everyday that I couldn't not wear to a Taylor concert.

This set was definitely one of my favorites, and I can't wait to share more vacation #OOTD posts and more later this week!

Xoxo,

Abby
