Happy August!
Can you believe summer has almost come to an end?! It's already been three whole months of summer and I feel like it just started yesterday.
This past week in MN has been hot and I can't tell you how excited I am for fall weather so I can start breaking out the sweaters and booties. But due to the steamy weather, it does make for a perfect pool day! Pool day's are always fun because you can mix and match different suits, throw on a cover up over your suit, or just throw on a pair of shorts with your swim top and call it a day.
My favorite swimsuit styles seen this summer are one-pieces and high-waist bottoms, so it's safe to say I indulged a little and purchased a few in early May. When not working on school or the blog, I work with kids both during the summer and school year, so a one-piece was a must-have for when we go swimming. I wanted to find a versatile suit that was comfortable and easy to move around in when swimming with a bunch of school-aged kids, but stylish enough to wear as a summer suit as well. Target had a variety of suits that fit everything on my list, but I ended up with the one pictured below that I just cannot get enough of.

Zip-Up One-Piece Swimsuit: Target | High-Waist Jean Shorts: American Eagle (no longer available, similar here) | Sunglasses: Target | Sandals: Target (no longer available, similar here)
Target always sells such cute and stylish swim items each year, and they for sure did not disappoint this time around. They have many styles for all people, in a vast amount of prints and colors. Every single suit I've ever gotten from Target has 1. Lasted me years, and 2. Been the most comfortable over any other brands swimsuits.
This #TargetStyle one-piece swimsuit was the first one I've bought, I think, ever? Aside from when my mom bought me them when I was younger. I was a little nervous how I'd like the fit and feel, but I own bodysuits so I figured it really couldn't be much different than that...and it wasn't. I'm wearing a S and it fits TTS and it's all around comfortable and easy to move around in, which is great for when I wear it around the kiddos. The straps don't fall, back doesn't ride up, and the material is light. On the sides of the suit, there is lace-up detailing, which adds an extra fun element along with the zipper. I really love the bright fuchsia color of the suit, too, because it calls to summer's essence and it's a spunky color I usually don't wear too often.
To wear over the suit, I threw on a pair of American Eagle jean shorts that I absolutely love! I purchased these shorts two summers ago and they are still in great condition, with almost no signs of wear. I don't wash them too often, which helps with preserving the quality of denim. The light-wash color complimented the fuchsia color of the suit well, really making it pop.
Finishing the outfit, I went with my favorite #TargetStyle gladiator sandals that I've had for years! They're so comfortable and such great quality. I always shop Target shoes at the end of the summer when a ton of them go on clearance, and I always find the best pairs that have lasted me so long! Along with the Target sandals, my round-eye sunnies are also from there and they pair so easily and well with many different outfits, but are perfect for a sunny pool day.
This outfit is definitely one of my summer pool-day faves because it was easy to throw together and showcased a relaxed but ultimately fun look.
